Comprehensive Health Guarantee

Clear veterinary standards, vaccination documentation, and written warranty protection for every Chihuahua puppy.

Our Commitment to Healthy, Vet Checked Chihuahua Puppies

Every Chihuahua puppy placed by Chihuahua of USA is backed by a comprehensive written health guarantee designed to give adopting families complete peace of mind. Because we raise our litters inside our own home from health screened parents, we stand confidently behind the physical soundness and early medical care of every puppy we place across the United States. Our health guarantee outlines our veterinary protocols prior to adoption, the protections provided to your family, and the simple steps required to maintain continuous coverage.

Pre Placement Veterinary Examination and Preventative Care

Prior to leaving our care, each puppy undergoes a thorough clinical examination performed by a licensed veterinarian. During this assessment, the veterinarian evaluates heart murmur status, respiratory clarity, patellar alignment, oral palate development, eyes, ears, skin, and overall body condition. No puppy is ever released for pickup or travel before reaching at least eight weeks of age and demonstrating steady independent eating and healthy weight progression.

Each puppy receives age appropriate core vaccinations and routine preventative deworming treatments according to veterinary pediatric schedules. You will receive an official veterinary health record detailing the exact dates, vaccine lot numbers, deworming medications, and weight measurements recorded during your puppy time in our nursery.

Initial Ten Day Viral and Communicable Illness Protection

To ensure a smooth transition into your home, we require every adopting family to have their new puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian of their choice within seventy two hours of pickup or arrival. This initial wellness visit establishes a baseline medical relationship with your local clinic and confirms that your puppy arrived in good health.

If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses your puppy within ten days of arrival with a serious communicable viral illness that originated prior to leaving our care, such as canine parvovirus or distemper, Chihuahua of USA will cover documented veterinary treatment costs up to the original purchase price of the puppy or provide a replacement puppy of equal value, upon receipt of written veterinary laboratory confirmation.

One Year Congenital and Hereditary Health Warranty

In addition to initial arrival coverage, every puppy is protected by a twelve month congenital and hereditary warranty beginning on the date of birth. This warranty covers severe, life threatening genetic defects involving the heart, liver, kidneys, or neurological system that significantly impair the puppy quality of life as verified by two independent licensed veterinarians, including a board certified veterinary specialist when applicable.

Should a covered congenital or hereditary condition be diagnosed within the first year of life, Chihuahua of USA will provide a replacement puppy of comparable quality and value from our next available litter, or issue a partial reimbursement toward documented medical care so the family can keep their beloved companion while receiving financial support.

Adopter Responsibilities for Maintaining Coverage

Because toy breed puppies require attentive daily care during their rapid growth phase, our warranty remains active when the adopting family follows responsible veterinary and nutritional practices:

  • Schedule and complete the initial licensed veterinary wellness check within seventy two hours of receiving your puppy.
  • Maintain the puppy on the same high quality puppy food provided in our starter kit for at least the first two weeks, introducing any dietary changes gradually to protect digestive health.
  • Provide frequent small meals and fresh water daily to prevent toy breed low blood sugar episodes, known clinically as juvenile hypoglycemia, which is a management condition rather than a genetic defect.
  • Keep all follow up booster vaccinations, heartworm prevention, and internal parasite checks current according to your veterinarian schedule.
  • Protect the puppy from public dog parks, pet store floors, and areas frequented by unvaccinated dogs until the full pediatric vaccination series is completed.

How to Submit a Veterinary Health Inquiry

If your veterinarian ever identifies a health concern during the warranty period, notify our family within forty eight hours of the examination by emailing info@chihuahuaofusa.com. Include copies of the veterinary examination notes, diagnostic test results, and clinic contact information so our veterinarian can review the findings promptly and coordinate support with you.
